Teaser Tuesday: Lord Loss

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's teaser comes from Lord Loss (The Demonata #1) by Darren Shan:

Seriously, jokes aside, I'm frightened. They're sharing a secret, something bad, and keeping me out of it. Why? Is it to do with me? Do they know something that I don't? Like maybe... maybe... (p. 14)
Apparently I've been in a Darren Shan kick lately.  That and I found a ton of his books at my local used book store which makes me very happy! lol Anyway, this story, just like his others, has started off in such a way to keep me turning the page and feeling bummed when I have to finally call it a night and get some sleep!  Fortunately I'm not the type to have nightmares based on what I read or watch, otherwise I don't think I would be reading this or any of his other novels right before going to sleep!

What's your teaser this week?
Leave me a link below and have a great Tuesday!

New Project!

Now that Lineage is live, I'm shifting my focus to a new project that I've been playing around with for a few years now.  I had a rough manuscript already drafted, but now that I've got my Muse/Editor involved, the storyline is morphing into something amazing!  I'm about half-way through the re-write and am reaching a point now where everything I add will be new material.

For years now I've been a huge fan of the paranormal genre (reading it not writing it).  But I wanted to try my hand at it even though I recognize that it's a crowded field.  I still feel like there are new twists and angles that can be explored and brought to life.  Plus, I'm a character person and sometimes all it takes are new and interesting characters to breathe life into a genre that feels as if it's been overdone.  So that's what I'm attempting to do with this new series.

And yes, it will be a series.  There will be Vampires and Lycans and Seers... well, one Seer anyway.  There will be intrigue and flirtations and danger.  There will be multiple attractions for the main character, but nothing set in stone as to who she has to choose.  She can enjoy each one in her own way and not have that whole insta-love or love triangle issue to deal with.

Something a little different with this series than what I've done in the past is that this will be told from one perspective only.  My main character is a female who's had some hard knocks but keeps right on going.  She's willing to explore and take reasonable risks and she doesn't accept everything at face value.  She's curious and a bit endearingly klutzy and loyal to those she cares about.  She's innocent in some respects and worldly in others.  And being eighteen, she's beginning to explore the adult world more which will of course land her in various adult situations.

This series is intended for the mature young adult and older audience.  I haven't settled on whether I intend to market this as New Adult or just stick with General Adult fiction yet.  Either way, I believe it will be an enticing read for a wide range of ages.

So, with all of that said, I will be posting a progress bar soon so anyone curious can see how the manuscript is coming along.  As for my other series, once I finish this first book in this series, I'll be switching to The Soul of Arial series and begin working on book 3, Aboveworld.  After that, I'll be back in the sci-fi/adventure realm with the fourth book in the Galactic Dynasty series.  Lots going on, but then that's what us authors live for... to write stories!

Teaser Tuesday: Zom-B

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's teaser comes from Zom-B (Zom-B #1) by Darren Shan:

It was the darkest, most wretched hour of the night when the dead came back to life and spread like a plague of monstrous locusts through the village of Pallaskenry.  The luckiest victims were slaughtered in their sleep, their skulls ripped open, their brains devoured.  The others suffered a far more terrible fate. (p. 1)

With an opening like this you know it's going to be one heck of a zombie book!  I'm about half-way through this and have found it hard to put it down so far.  The main character is hard to love but at the same time he's hard to hate.  His life is not a good or easy one and the author is amazing at bringing that to light as the story progresses.  Just as any good zombie novel, this isn't about the undead... it's about the living and it definitely comes through in this first installment!

Almost There!

Good morning all!

It's been a while since my last update so let me bring everyone up to speed.  Lineage (Galactic Dynasty #3) will be releasing Wednesday, Sept. 9!  So excited for this latest installment in the sci-fi/adventure series I co-author with my Muse to be out there for you readers!  To tide you over until the release, here is the cover and synopsis:

LineageFrontCoverLineage –  For all of us, the link from past to present… and to the future.  DNA that carries more than traits binds Rosa to her alien past, to a synthetic intelligence, and directly links her to both human and Metrusian races.  The first to be of both worlds.  An onus that she must embrace as fate will not have it any other way.    Aliens, synthetic intelligence, and Earthlings – a lineage fusion of galactic proportions.

Once Lineage goes live I'll be turning my focus to The Soul of Arial series to begin work on the manuscript for Aboveworld (book 3).  I'm really looking forward to getting back in the mindset of Arial, Rayner, and others as their journeys continue!

I'm also working on another writing project.  I haven't quite decided where it's going yet, but once I have a firmer feel for the actual manuscript, I'll post some updates and more information on it here.

I hope everyone had a great summer and got a chance to read a lot of awesome books!  If you haven't had a chance to check out the Galactic Dynasty series yet or have been meaning to catch up with it before the release of Lineage, be sure to visit my publisher's website for both Starward (book 1) and Vagar (book 2).  The first chapter of each book is on the site as well as purchase links for Kindle and Nook and for the paperback version.

Have a great rest of the week and I'll try to log on again soon with more updates!

Teaser Tuesday: First Grave on the Right

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's teaser comes from First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson #1) by Darynda Jones:
It was my Uncle Bob. He bombarded me with words, of all things, apparently clueless to the fact that predawn hours rendered me incapable of coherent thought. I concentrated super duper hard on concentrating and made out three salient phrases: busy night, two homicides, ass down here. I even managed a reply, something resembling, "What twirly nugget are you from?" He sighed, clearly annoyed, then hung up. (p. 2)
I finally managed to find the time to start this series and I'm now wishing I hadn't waited so long!  I'm already in love with Charley and can't wait to see how this book continues!  Plus, I love when books make me giggle out loud and I've done that several times already and I'm only about 50 pages in. :)

Teaser Tuesday: The L Section

•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's teaser comes from The L Section by E. M. Lohr:

The L Section is one of what seemed to be an endless number of sections in Purgatory.  Souls are assigned to a specific section based on some evaluation that is done as they arrive.  And the ‘L’ in L Section stood for Liars, Losers, and Leeches.  Not the most glamorous collection of souls, but definitely an interesting bunch.  The ‘L’ may explain why I got assigned to the section but it certainly doesn’t explain why I was made the Administrator.  I think it is my penitence for all my years as a government employee. (p. 1)

This is a very unique take on Purgatory with an incredible twist that keeps you thinking long after you've finished the book.  With lots of humor, quirky characters, and sprinklings of interesting stories of how or why various souls were in Purgatory, this kept me turning the pages to find out how this story was going to end!  And the bonus... my hubby is the author behind the imaginative insanity!

Teaser Tuesday: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's teaser is from Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children #1) by Ransom Riggs:

Standing in a tomb-dark hallway just inside the door, I stared frozenly at what looked for all the world like skins hanging from hooks.  After a queasy moment in which I imagined some twisted cannibal leaping from the shadows with knife in hand, I realized they were only coats rotted to rags and green with age. (p. 84)

So far this book has been riveting!  With scene descriptions painted in such vivid detail as above, I have no trouble at all putting myself in the character's shoes and seeing what they see or feeling what they feel.  The fact that photographs are peppered throughout just add to the atmosphere the author is creating.  Now I just wish I'd read this book much sooner!

Booking Through Thursday #3

Booking Through Thursday is a weekly bookish meme about (mostly) books and reading.

This week's BTT is: The Other Side

What do non-reader friends think about your reading habits? Do they understand? Are they sympathetic? Or are they always trying to get you to "get your nose out of that book?"

I think all I have are non-reader friends.  Most aren't interested in reading and some will occasionally read, but not like I do.  Fortunately, they all know my near insatiable love of reading and are understanding.  They know that's something I truly enjoy and they don't try to get me to stop.  They do love to tease me, though, and I'm cool with that because I know they're not being mean about it.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this subject, so leave me a comment or link below and have a wonderful Thursday!

Almost There...

Just three more chapters to go and the manuscript will be complete for Lineage (Galactic Dynasty #3)!!!  The Muse and I are so excited to be near the end of this latest installment in our sci-fi/adventure series and hope to have everything polished and ready for publication by the end of this summer if not sooner!

And silly me just realized that I hadn't shared the cover on here yet, so it's up above.  What do you guys think?  Compared with the first two books, I love how this series' covers are laying out!  Below are all three book covers:

There's not much else to report at this time.  Just feverishly working to get this latest novel ready and out there for you awesome readers to enjoy!  Hope everyone's having a great Wednesday!

This week's teaser comes from Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars #1) by Sara Shepard:

But something felt the same, as if Alison's presence was still floating here.  Emily felt woozy and leaned against the wall for support. (p. 24)

Last week, I started binge watching season 1 of Pretty Little Liars and liked it well enough to give the books a try.  So far I'm enjoying the read and am looking forward to seeing how the first book in this series plays out.

Booking Through Thursday #2

Booking Through Thursday is a weekly bookish meme about (mostly) books and reading.

This week's BTT is: Vacation

When you travel, do you bring one book with you? Or a pile of them?
And is that pile still a load of paper to lug around? Or do you use an e-book reader like a Kindle or your iPad to help carry the load? (Because, even if you prefer paper, it can get heavy when you're traveling!)

I actually take both when I'm traveling. I'll find a couple of paper books to take with me and I'll also take my Android which has apps for Kindle, Nook, and several other e-readers. Then when I get to where I'm going, it just depends on what kind of mood I'm in as to which I pick up to read, paper or e-book.

Which do you take with you on vacation?

•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's teaser comes from A Feast For Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire #4) by George R. R. Martin:

The stench of death was growing stronger, despite the scented candles.  The smell reminded Jaime Lannister of the pass below the Golden Tooth, where he had won a glorious victory in the first days of the war.  On the morning after the battle, the crows had feasted on victors and vanquished alike, as once they had feasted on Rhaegar Targaryen after the Trident.  How much can a crown be worth, when a crow can dine upon a king? (p. 174)

In honor of Season 5 of Game of Thrones ending, I wanted to share this particular passage.  It really struck me when I read it, especially the last line.  And after seeing some of the craziness this season, it seems to resonate even more.  What's a crown or riches or power when each individual will eventually reach the same end?  Crows will dine on anything and anyone, regardless of their status or wealth.  Definitely puts things into perspective!

This week's teaser is from Awakening Iris (The Dreacatchers Saga #1) by Jessie McClain:

This novel will wring the emotions right out of you and is so beautifully written.  The main character, Iris, is messy and beautiful and loveable and her journey throughout this book was a roller coaster ride, but one I was definitely glad I got on!

•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's teaser comes from A Veil of Shattered Dreams by Rachel Stark:

I think I knew a little girl once, maybe. The inclination is strong, but an invisible hand is gripping me, pulling me farther away, and tugging on the pang in my heart. I don’t resist and wait patiently on the other side of the veil. And when it parts, the spotlight falls upon the face of the figure I recognize immediately, the pale, ghostlike woman seated across from me. (p. 3)

This is an intense psychological trip that is beautifully written.  The imagery throughout the novel is haunting and the twist at the end leaves you stunned and contemplative even after you finish reading.  Definitely would recommend this to anyone who loves psychological suspense novels!

Atmosphere is Key

Happy Friday all!  I hope each of you have had a productive week and are eagerly awaiting the beginning of the weekend!  For me, there are books calling my name to be read along with other things I'm not even aware of yet.  Always busy here on the weekends!

Anyway, I kind of wanted to ramble a bit about atmosphere today.  And no, not the atmosphere that we all share.  The atmosphere that one needs in order to create.

Some authors are fond of listening to music while they write.  They have particular playlists cued up depending on the type of novel they're currently writing.  As for other authors, they write while watching genre-specific movies or TV shows.  Some authors prefer the bustle of a Panera Bread or Starbucks to help with their writing flow.  And other authors book a few weeks at a specific hotel in order to pound out word count goals.

As for me, I'm a quiet writer.  If there's any sort of chattering or music, I become completely distracted and lose my writing flow very quickly.  My favorite writing place is the living room where I curl up in my favorite recliner chair with my laptop and let the words flow freely across the screen.  I don't have any music on, no TV flashing in the background, and typically nobody around to pester me about something every thirty minutes.

When I'm in this sort of atmosphere, the writing comes to life, my characters take over, and I can happily dance my fingers across the keys for hours on end.  Thousands of words come pouring out and before I know it, I've finished a chapter.  Then another.  And so on.  I am content to live in another world for several hours and when I finally do come back to reality, I'm usually starving!

I guess my point here is that everyone creates differently.  We all need different sorts of stimuli to get the imagination pumping.  We each require a particular atmosphere and sometimes it takes trial and error before we find that perfect blend that helps us to bring our stories to life on the page.

What sort of atmosphere do you create best in?  Feel free to share below and have a great weekend!

Booking Through Thursday #1

Booking Through Thursday is a weekly bookish meme about (mostly) books and reading.
This weeks' BTT is: What book would you love to see turned into a movie?  (Yes, with the understanding that it would be everything you hoped it could be, doing justice to the story, the characters, the writer’s vision, and so on. Not a hatchet-job horror.)

I would love to see the Finishing School series by Gail Carriger turned into movies.  It's a four book series, the last of which is due to release this fall, and it's an incredible mix of wit, adventure, steampunk, mystery, and zaniness!  I really think it would adapt well to the big screen and I'd love to see these characters and this world brought to life.

What book or series would you like to see made into a movie?

Book Beginnings on Friday #1

Book Beginnings on Fridays is a meme hosted by Rose City Reader.  This meme features the first sentence or so of the current book one is reading and thoughts and musings about that sentence or so shared.  Inclusion of the title and author are greatly appreciated!

This week's book beginning comes from The Wrong Girl (The 1st Freak House Trilogy #1) by C. J. Archer:

To say I'd been kept prisoner my entire life in an attic wasn't quite true.  It was only fifteen years out of eighteen, and I was allowed to walk in the gardens for a half-hour some days.  Besides, the attic rooms of Windamere Manor covered the top-most floor of the entire west wing, and Violet and I had the run of them.

The first paragraph of this gothic novel grabbed my attention right away.  I wanted to know why this character had been put up in the attic for all those years, only allowed outside for a half-hour at a time, and I wanted to know who Violet was.  As I read on, I quickly came to some of those answers and they were quite disturbing and had me feeling really sorry for the main character and her friend.

Do you have a book beginning to share?

Game of Thrones Rant

Good morning everyone!

As I'm sure a lot of you have seen, there's been a lot of controversy over the latest episode of HBO's Game of Thrones.  I don't usually get involved in these rantings and ravings because quite honestly, this is a fictional world inhabited by fictional people and there are a lot more worrisome things happening in the real world that deserve louder rantings and ravings.

However, I guess I need to put my two-cents worth out there for anyone interested in reading it.  I've been a fan of GoT since it first aired on HBO four and a half seasons ago.  And I'm still a huge fan today, even more so as the plot continues to thicken and characters come and go.  One of the things I love about what HBO has done with this series is that they have given us fans an alternate storyline that I can easily see GRRM getting behind 100%.  And he does.  Just read his interviews or watch videos of him answering questions about the show.

With that said, there's been this big blow up about Sansa's scene at the end of the latest episode.  Yes it was disturbing and yes I felt completely sorry for her character.  But what did people expect when she was marrying the biggest sadistic psycho of the seven kingdoms?  He wasn't going to be all flowery and romantic with her just because she was Sansa Stark and his newly acquired wife.  Ramsay is a freak and will continue to torture, both mentally and physically, until someone finally kills him off.  I'm just hoping that after what happened to Sansa and Theon being forced to witness it, that those two will make an odd alliance and kill the bastard off before the season ends!

Anyway, I guess the real reason I'm ranting here is that I had a friend on Facebook that I've known for a long time post an article about this episode.  Then he went on to share that if anyone was still willing to watch the show after what some people called a horrific, brutal rape scene, he wanted to know so he could unfriend them.  It kind of pi$$ed me off when I read that.  I find it ludicrous that people will turn their backs on those that get enjoyment out of a FICTIONAL show.  It's not as if any of us watching GoT condone rape or murder or torture and the writers and actors do not condone rape or murder or torture.  They are just writing a scene or acting out a scene in a world that was created to show the harsh realities of that realm.  And again... it's FICTION!  Plus, rape, murder, torture, orgies, and all sorts of insanity have been a part of this series from the beginning, both in the books and in the show.  So why this particular 2-minute scene is getting such a vicious and ludicrous reaction is beyond me.

I say kudos to the writers, actors, and to the author for standing behind this scene 100% and kudos to those fans watching/reading this series and realizing that they're watching a fictional story play out on their screens and reading a fictional story spanning the printed page.  Leave the rantings and ravings for reality where there are plenty of things to rant and rave about.

On a lighter note, I leave you all with my all-time favorite GoT character, Tyrion Lannister.  He's played by Peter Dinklage, a superior actor and apparently an incredible singer as the following video shows:

This weeks' teaser comes from The Wrong Girl (The 1st Freak House Trilogy #1) by C. J. Archer:

The prospect of meeting him filled me with foreboding. What sort of man inspired a nice girl like Sylvia to fumble nervously with the hooks and eyes on my dress? What sort of man had his niece and nephew kidnap for him? (p. 31)

So far this novel is holding true for a good gothic mystery and I'm looking forward to seeing where this story will go!

Book Meme Participation Coming Soon!

As some of you may have known, I was a fairly active participant in the book review blogging world up until about a year or so ago.  Things started getting really crazy with my writing schedule and I had to put my focus on writing instead of reading and reviewing books.  I've really missed that world and have decided to dip my toes back into it just a little bit by participating in some memes I took part in back then.

So, starting Tuesday, I'll be participating in Teaser Tuesday hosted by A Daily Rhythm.  And Friday I should have a post up for Book Beginnings on Friday hosted by Rose City Reader.  We'll see how well I'm able to keep up with these two and maybe I'll add more in the future.  After all, I am still reading, just not reviewing like I once had been.

Hopefully you all will enjoy the upcoming meme posts and I encourage any who wish to join in the fun by leaving comments or links to your own Teasers and Book Beginnings each week!  Until then, happy reading!

Character Challenges

Good morning all and Happy Friday!

Sorry it's been a while since my last post, but I've been hard at work on the latest manuscript and am happy to share that I'm over half-way through the first draft!  13 Chapters have been completed and there's at least 7-10 more to go.  The Galactic Dynasty series is getting more and more interesting as events continue to unfold and I'm loving where this latest book is taking the characters!

Speaking of characters... as you all know, I'm a huge character-driven reader.  If I can't connect with the characters, the story tends to lose my interest quickly.  Same goes for writing.  I've got to be totally into my characters or I rapidly lose my connection with them and therefore am unable to write their stories.  So, as a whole, I find it very easy to slip into the various mindsets of my different characters and love spending time in each of their individual heads.

With that said, I have encountered probably the most difficult character for me to write to date.  This character is in the Galactic Dynasty series and plays pivotal yet vague roles in the development of the story as well as being the supporting character to my main characters.  His name is Daemos and he is actually an it... he's Artificial Intelligence at its most refined and he's extremely complex.  This translates to him being very difficult to grasp in my mind in order for me to write him into various scenes.

On the one hand, he's a computer program.  He's logic and databanks and 1's and 0's.  On the other hand, he's an evolving program and he's beginning to simulate near flawlessly the various human interactions that he has observed and analyzed from the human characters he's encountered.  But he's still just a computer program at the core of it all and he does not actually feel the emotions he tries to simulate.

Anyway, he has been the most challenging character to write because I'm trying to get inside the mindset of a computer that is attempting to evolve to a more human-like state.  And sometimes I get ahead of myself and give him characteristics or actions that make him more human-like.  That's when my co-author has to step in and tone things down to where Daemos actually is in his development or evolution.  You should hear the heated discussions that take place when we're dealing with Daemos in particular and amazingly enough, Daemos is the only character that we tend to have heated discussions about.  And I'm sure it's because Daemos is the most difficult character for me to figure out and portray.

I love the challenge that Daemos continuously presents to me, though.  I feel that because of this challenge, I am able to develop more as an author.  It forces me to step outside my comfort zone and explore unique solutions in order to make Daemos as realistic an AI as possible without losing the fact that he is just a computer when you strip everything else away.  I think that he's actually preparing me for when I begin exploring the other alien species that my human characters have yet to meet in this series and hopefully when I reach that point, I'll be able to come up with some intriguing species that my readers have yet to encounter in other sci-fi/adventure novels.

So, as much as I sometimes want to bang my head against a wall where Daemos is concerned, he is rapidly becoming my favorite character out of all the ones taking up space in my head.  He's unique and fascinating and a complete enigma, even to his creator, and I really look forward to seeing just how far he'll go in his evolution.

For the writers out there, who has been your most challenging character to date?  And what made them so challenging for you?  I'd love to hear from you, so please leave a comment below and happy writing!

For the readers out there, who has been your favorite fictional character to date?  And what makes them your favorite?  I'd love to hear from you as well, so please leave a comment below and happy reading!

Final Edits In Progress

Good morning all!

In the last post I talked about splitting Two Worlds into two books, Underworld and Aboveworld.  Well I am happy to report that Underworld has been submitted for final edits!!!!  That means that I've got a cover to design and a synopsis to draft between now and when I get the edits back.  Then it's final tweaks, formatting, and Underworld will be ready to share with the masses!

Since the final edit process can take up to a few weeks, I actually do have some time on my hands for other things.  That means I'll probably begin formulating plans for the third book in the Galactic Dynasty series.  My intentions are to get the third book out by the end of this year, perhaps even sooner, and then move into the third book in The Soul of Arial series, Aboveworld.  But we'll see how it all flows.

I'm really looking forward to diving back into the world of Galactic Dynasty.  I've missed Rosa and Daemos and I can't wait to figure out what all is going to happen next with them as well as the rest of the crew of Starward.  And of course, they have a Metrusian with them this time, Raz, who I'm sure will be getting into all sorts of mischief right alongside Rosa and Daemos.  Should be a lot of fun!

I hope that everyone is staying warm and safe in all this snowy madness we've been experiencing these last few weeks.  And if nothing else, be sure to curl up with a book and escape to another world for a few hours!

Happy Reading!

Dividing a Book in Two

Good morning, peeps!  And Happy Friday the 13th!!!  As you can probably guess, I love this particular date.  I'm not of the superstitious nature and completely embrace this date because it's a special date for the Muse and I.  Every time there's a Friday the 13th in the month, he takes the day off work and we enjoy the day together.

Anyway, that's actually not what this post is about.  Just wanted to gush about how awesome my Muse is for a moment. lol

No, this post is to inform you awesome followers and readers that a somewhat major decision was reached over the last couple of weeks.  I've been talking about Two Worlds for the last several months as the sequel to Prophecy Revealed (The Soul of Arial #1).  Well, after working on it these last couple of weeks, I've come to the realization that I was trying to cram two books worth of material into one book.

So... Two Worlds has been broken into two books.  The new titles are Underworld (book 2) and Aboveworld (book 3).  Underworld is almost complete.  I just have another chapter or two to add to the manuscript and then I'll begin the final editing process.  Plus I still have to create the cover and come up with a synopsis.  But if all goes well, Underworld will be releasing very soon!!

I'm excited about this decision because it's going to allow me to explore each of these fascinating worlds more in depth.  Well, Arial will be exploring them and then telling me what she sees so I can write it.  You know how characters are!

Once Underworld is published, I'll be switching gears and will begin writing the first draft for the third book in the Galactic Dynasty series.  This is the series I co-write with my Muse and hopefully we'll have the third book out to the readers of that series by the end of this year.

I think that's all the news I have for now.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day and an amazing weekend.  And if you're looking for some good romantic reads to curl up with this weekend, be sure to check out my publisher's Romance page.  All of the books on that page are amazing and would make a great addition to any romance reader's collection!

Take care and Happy Reading!

It's a Brand New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Sorry I've been silent for so long, but as you can see by the progress bar on the right side of the screen, I've been hard at work on Two Worlds (The Soul of Arial #2)!  It's coming along beautifully and I hope to have the full manuscript written by the end of this month.

So, speaking of the new year, what's in store?  Definitely the publication of Two Worlds, which I hope will take place by March.  *crosses fingers and toes*  Then it's on to book 3 in the Galactic Dynasty series that I'm co-authoring with my Muse.  If all goes well, I should have that book ready to publish between October-December.

On top of getting two new books out this year, I'll also be putting my editor/cover creator/formatter/publisher hats on and helping the other authors in the Cressen Books publishing family get their books out there to the masses.  I also have two trips planned this year, one to Norfolk, VA and one to Indianapolis, IN as well as a possible third trip but that one's still in the works, so not sure yet if it will happen or not.

2015 looks as though it's already shaping up to be a busy, exciting year!  On a personal note, I've challenged myself to read 50 books this year as part of my Goodreads Challenge for 2015.  And I'll always be working on other writing projects that may or may not see the light of publishing.  Never know!  If any of the books I read this year turn out to be review-worthy, I'll be sure to post the review on the site here and share my thoughts with everyone as well as posting the review over on Goodreads.  And if you're not a member of Goodreads, head on over and check the site out, maybe even send me a friend request while you're at it!

Okay, so I'm off of here for now.  I'll try to be a more consistent blogger this year... one of my goals for 2015.  I hope everyone's new year has gotten off to an awesome start and I look forward to sharing this year with all of you awesome peeps!
